Metal Milling Machines

Metal milling machines use rotary cutters that spiral down through a workpiece to remove material. Our lathes are designed to be factory workhorses. We feature manual, CNC, horizontal, vertical, boring, and multi-axis milling machines. Shop various manufacturers and be sure to ask about all options and accessories to ensure you get the right machine for the job.\r\nDepending on the number of axes, metal milling machines can mill in a variety of directions. Orientation of the mill is typically the primary classification for milling machines; the two most common are vertical and horizontal, with the spindle axis oriented at the respective classification. Vertical mills come in 2 sub-categories: turret mills, which features a stationary spindle and a table that can be moved perpendicular and parallel to the spindle axis. Bed mills feature a table that can only be moved perpendicular to the spindle’s axis, while the spindle itself moves parallel to its own axis. Turret mills are typically more versatile, since they can be maneuvered in more directions to manipulate various cuts.
