Vertical mills come in 2 sub-categories: turret mills, which features a stationary spindle and a table that can be moved perpendicular and parallel to the spindle axis. Bed mills feature a table that can only be moved perpendicular to the spindle’s axis, while the spindle itself moves parallel to its own axis.
